Sean Astin Rides To And They’re Off


Horse racing is clearly back in a big way. Sean Astin is starring in an indie comedy called And They’re Off. Astin has signed on to play a failed horse trainer who wants to get back in the game. The likes of Cheri Oteri, Martin Mull, Kevin Nealon and Mo Collins are all in the cast, along with real-life racing types.

SANET is very happy to announce that Sean will be appearing at Dragon*Con the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the universe!

This year, Dragon*Con will be held Labor Day weekend (September 3–6, 2010) in Atlanta, GA, and SANET wil be there!! We're looking forward to seeing Sean and attending this fantastic conference!!

Sean Astin
Sean Astin is most famous for his film roles as Mikey in The Goonies, the title character of Rudy, Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Drew Barrymore's steroid-juiced brother in 50 First Dates.

Sean sent a letter to his friend and fellow actor D.B. Sweeney expressing his admiration for the men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Sweeney shared the letter as part of his "Letter from Hollywood" project which launched March 30.

To me this letter sums up all the reasons why SANET exists and why my admiration and respect for this wonderful man is unbounded.
